All cards below are from the Rider-Waite Tarot Deck.
Aries
Queen of Pentacles card. This card Aries represents an individual who embodies the multitasking queen. She wants to see others succeed, see herself succeed, and all the while stay as busy as possible. Take this card as a positive sign, Aries, in that we know at the start of the year you’ll want to hit the ground running with great momentum. You’ve really got it within you – and you’ve already probably shown great tenacity in the four days of January already! Keep it going and don’t stop! (Listen to your body though, burning out isn’t the one!!)
Taurus
Knight of Swords card. There’s something that you’ve got your eye on, Taurus! It might be a goal (hint hint January resolutions) or an area of your relationship you want to work on or perhaps a self improvement technique. Either way, focus hard and really see the goal through. As a Taurus, we know there is nothing that can stop you when you’ve got your mind set on something. You’re pretty convinced this goal needs to happen – so see it through! Maybe explore tools this week you can use like masterclasses or free workshops online to really hone in on what you need to achieve this goal.
Gemini
The Chariot card reversed. Gemini, this card reversed can be seen as a blessing. While it’s reversed meaning signifies that there might be an area in your life you’re looking to control more of, this doesn’t have to be a bad thing! Take great proudness in knowing you’re being honest and communicative with yourself. Are there areas of your life that you might feel are off balance? Perhaps in love or in your self control realms? Really reflect heavily this week and make plans that are realistic and beneficial for yourself. Break out of the comfort zone!
Cancer
Two of Wands card reversed. Cancer, this card reversed signifies the need to set up long term goals. A positive pull for sure, as though the future can be unsettling or uncertain, it’s key for your own self happiness to set up longer term goals. While you might find joy in the now, it’s important to sit with yourself and think about what you really want out of life. Likewise by making long term goals, you’ll inch towards them with your short and medium term goals. It all adds up to the greater good! As well the Two of Wands reversed could signify the importance of setting up some sort of savings in the realm of finances. Review this week what those long term goals could look like!
Leo
Four of Wands card reversed. This week, Leo, it’s all about communication. What do you see happening long term with your family, close friends, and romantic relationships? The Four of Wands reversed can mean imbalances and communication storms. The start of the new year can certainly be scary for many, there’s so much anxiety around how the year will pan out (especially after 2020!) If you feel like there’s an imbalance around an area in your life, make sure you tackle it in a calm and collected manner. It’s been a long time coming as these underlying issues aren’t just surface level. Take this week to reflect on how you want your relationships to go this new year. You don’t have to take any drastic measures, but just reflect, visualise, and manifest how you’d like them to grow and pan out.
Virgo
Six of Swords card. Though the new year is meant for new beginnings, fresh starts, and exciting movements – the Six of Swords card begs to differ. It represents a transition but one that isn’t always positive (at least on the surface). There might be emotions of sadness or anger, but regardless, take this moment as a time to move forward in an empowered and exciting state. There’s so much to look forward to – and perhaps this is a blessing in disguise. Happening right at the start of the year, showing you the potential you have to really become who you need to be for yourself! This week prepare yourself for this by remembering who you are, and what you mean to yourself.
Libra
Ten of Cups card. A really wholesome and beautiful card, Libra! This card represents a full turn of events (especially coming from the “ten”). One that encompasses really authentic love, confidence, and true connections. There is all around sweetness and warmness with this card – it’s a real sigh of relief! Take this week to visualise how you can keep this up throughout the year, in an authentic way.
Scorpio
The Star card reversed. Again, with many reversed cards they can be very eye opening and sometimes like a slap in the face. But all in all, they’re usually very beneficial to our growth. The Star card reversed can mean you feel like everyone or everything is turning on you – you might feel like you just can’t get anything right. (Great timing at the start of the year – right?) However! This is a beautiful moment to really find truth and strength within you as your main self. While everyone else can leave or show their true colours, you will always have your back no matter what. Remember why you love yourself, what traits about you do you admire the most, why are you the best at what you do? Take this week to do so!
Sagittarius
The High Priestess card. This card, Sagittarius, is one with great strength. When you receive this it’s like a nod to returning to your inner divine soul. Don’t take this lightly! This week really look deep into your intuition and get your voice geared up for the year. Don’t pipe down, but rather make yourself heard! Any questions you have for yourself this week – search for the answers from deep within yourself – the answers are there!
Capricorn
Eight of Swords card reversed. Funnily enough, Capricorn, the Eight of Swords reversed is very positive! As I mentioned above, reversed cards, can sometimes be quite tricky to navigate! But this one signifies great strength, maturity, and seeing your own power. Talk about a great card. So what more can you do this week? Well, explore areas that you’ve previously had problems speaking up in – maybe relationships or work matters? Now you seem to have great confidence and knowledge in yourself, so it’s a great time to really communicate what you need in all realms. There’s less clouds around the murky areas, giving you more grounds to really push ahead in making things happen!
Aquarius
Seven of Cups card. This card, Aquarius, signifies the many, many choices you might have amongst you currently. This week take heed in perusing your decisions that need to be made – as while you may have many great options, there’s going to be many options that aren’t good for you. Weigh the pros and cons and really listen to what it is you want. Maybe get a second opinion! Definitely let your mind take some of the decision making as your heart and mind might sometimes be conflicted. Rational choices are what we’re looking for currently!
Pisces
Six of Wands card reversed. Though we’re at the start of the year, Pisces, it’s not uncommon to feel as though you’re lacking or not good enough. The new year definitely signifies and promotes this fresh ideal of a new start – but sometimes things carry over, and it’s not always as easy to switch to a new start. Take care in reflecting on why you might be feeling these emotions and what areas of your life you’re feeling them in (relations, work, etc.) Are you bored? Do you feel not seen? Do you feel like you’ve hit a wall? Start there, and then it might be a bit easier to devise a plan on how to move forward. Remember, sometimes things take time, but sometimes the decision to make a change is right in front of you.
