We round up some of the best new albums and singles that have come out this month that we can’t stop listening to – we hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

NEW ALBUMS

Artist – Fontaines D.C.
Album – A Hero’s Death
Round Up – This much anticipated second album from Dublin rockers, Fontaines D.C., was actually released at the end of July, but I’ve been listening to it non-stop for the whole of August. Following their impressive debut album, ‘Dogrel’, ‘A Hero’s Death’ takes you on a philosophic journey of modern life through an honest yet surreal wave of affecting anthems. Their grizzly, poetic sound has progressed with a new air of powerful confidence and dark emotion – they just keep getting better and better.
Top Track – Televised Mind

Artist – Disclosure
Album – ENERGY
Round Up – With it being five years since their last release, Disclosure’s aptly named third album is full of upbeat energy and impressive collaborations – with tracks featuring artists such as Kelis, Slowthai and Kehlani. A deeper and more diverse record than previous releases, ‘ENERGY’ may be a short listen, but it still creates the same heady dance heights we know and love Disclosure for.
Top Track – ENERGY

Artist – Kiesza
Album – Crave
Round Up – After being involved in a traumatic car-accident in 2017 which completely put her life on hold, causing her to take time out from making music to recover from her injuries, Kiesza has now made an exciting return with a fab second album. Euphoric, funky, and 80s inspired, ‘Crave’ is bursting with infectious dance-pop that reminds us just how talented a pop-star Kiesza is.
Top Track – Love Me With Your Lie

Artist – Dua Lipa, The Blessed Madonna
Album – Club Future Nostalgia
Round Up – Cementing herself as one of the biggest pop stars on the planet right now, Dua Lipa has decided to work with American DJ, The Blessed Madonna, to re-issue her second album, ‘Future Nostalgia’, as a huge new club album. Featuring some of the biggest names in music, Madonna, Missy Elliot and Gwen Stefani to name just a few, and DJ’s such as Joe Goddard, Jayda G and Paul Woolford, this reworked remix album embodies a spectrum of different artists and genres uniting as one to create dynamic new music – and really makes me miss the club.
Top Track – Levitating ft. Madonna, Missy Elliot, The Blessed Madonna.

Artist – The Magic Gang
Album – Death of the Party
Round Up – Known for creating unique and uplifting feel-good indie rock, The Magic Gang’s second album marks a movement into new lyrical territory that suits them just as well. Still conveying their infectious optimism throughout, the band also delve into a more emotional and questioning atmosphere, shown through tracks such as ‘Make A Sound’ and ‘Death of the Party’. Their evolving sound make them one of the most interesting new indie bands around and I can’t wait until I can see them live.
Top Track – Take Back The Track

NEW SINGLES

Artist – London Grammar
Single – Baby It’s You
Round Up – Their first release since 2017, London Grammar’s return sees them working with producer and electronic musician, George Fitzgerald. Their music is still so instantly recognisable through lead singer Hannah’s beautifully rich, emotive vocals, yet you can definitely hear Fitzgerald’s distinctive touch on production, I am very glad they’re back!

Artist – Miley Cyrus
Single – Midnight Sky
Round Up – A true musical superstar with an ever-changing sound, I love how much Miley has developed over the years, and for me, ‘Midnight Sky’ is up there as one of the best songs she’s released. A catchy, retro-pop-bop, featuring a sample from Stevie Nick’s iconic, ‘Edge of Seventeen’, the single merges disco, rock and pop with assertive lyrics that explore themes of independence and regaining control.

Artist – SG Lewis ft. Robyn & Channel Tres
Single – Impact
Round Up – One of the most exciting new artists and producers around, SG Lewis already has a long list of collaborations under his belt, working with artists such as Clairo and Ray Black in the past. His new track, ‘Impact’, sees him uniting with the almighty Robyn and the alluring, deep tones of Channel Tres, forming a multi-layered dance song full of groove and seductive chemistry.

Artist – Calvin Harris, The Weeknd
Single – Over Now
Round Up – A dramatic shift from Calvin Harris’ recent work of underground rave tracks under his alias, Love Regenerator, ‘Over Now’ sees him join forces with the Weeknd’s silky smooth vocals to create a slow and funky track about a breakup – it’s all about the range guys.

Artist – girl in red
Single – Rue
Round Up – Inspired and named after the character of Rue from the television series, ‘Euphoria’, this new song by girl in red, Norwegian singer-songwriter Marie Ulven, is the first release from her upcoming debut album. Exploring parallels between her own behaviour and that of the character, the song conveys an aura of escapism and how our behaviours can affect relationships with those closest to us.
