I’ve tried my fair share of DIY face masks. Some leave me breaking out, others do nothing, and some actually make a difference. Here are a few quick and easy masks you can make using all natural ingredients that have actually helped my skin. The first two are great for lightening dark spots and giving your skin a glow, while the last one is great for using on spots overnight to shrink them. Make sure you do a patch test first in case your skin is irritated by any of the ingredients!
TURMERIC + HONEY
Mix ½ teaspoon of turmeric with 1 tablespoon of honey. Use this ratio should you need more. Cover your face with the mixture and let it sit for 10-15 minutes then gently rinse off with warm water. Make sure to be careful, as turmeric stains everything pretty easily, and your face will have a yellow tint for a few hours afterwards.
TURMERIC + LEMON JUICE
Mix ½ teaspoon of turmeric with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Use as above.
CINAMMON, HONEY + BAKING SODA
Mix ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda and 1 tablespoon of honey. Place on the spot (or spots) you want to be gone and leave overnight. Rinse away in the morning with your normal cleansing routine.
